Call to Europe V: Islam in Europe
Op 24 en 25 juni organiseert de Foundation for the Party of European Socialists hun jaarlijkse evenement ‘Call to Europe’ in Brussel. Dit jaar zal de conferentie in het teken staan van ‘Islam in Europe’. Namens de PvdA zullen Diederik Samsom en Kati Piri spreken op deze conferentie.

This fifth edition of our signature Brussels annual event, “Call to Europe”, will address recent developments in society which are increasingly challenging Europe’s basic, fundamental values, such as mutual respect, tolerance, freedom of speech, equal rights between genders, the secular state and the protection of minorities.
“Call to Europe V: Islam in Europe” will therefore provide an opportunity for academics, civil society, policy makers and religious communities to develop a truly intercultural narrative on:
- How to support the development of genuine understanding of Islam within European societies;
- How to restore and enhance tolerance between all groups in European society;
What are the key policy measures and concrete actions that must be initiated to successfully address the fears of minority communities, to prevent radicalisation and to fight intolerance and discrimination, wherever it comes from?
